Description
Warriors of Eternity: China’s First Emperor & the Terracotta Warriors In 1974, farmers in a remote Chinese province unearthed remnants of ancient clay statues. Further excavation proved each was unique, modeled on real people. Archeologists soon discovered this was not part of the entire Chinese army of over 8000 teracotta warriors — but also exposed an entire necropolis, the secretive hidden burial city of China’s mysterious first Emperor. This investigation remains active as popular interest increases exponentially. Exhibitions have travelled worldwide. This program will provide insight into the life of this insidious imperial third century ruler who united China yet maintained a fantastic obsession with his own mortality. This visually enhanced presentation tells the fascinating story of how and why these astonishing figures were created, and the reasons they have become a symbol of China’s history, culture and society.
