Description
Anna and Adam, a young Jewish Parisian couple, are about to travel to Poland for the first time for their honeymoon. During this trip they plan to attend a ceremony in memory of the Jewish community in the village of Adam's grandfather, which was destroyed 75 years ago. Anna, like so many descendants of Holocaust survivors, begins to search for her own family's Polish Jewish roots and hopes to uncover more about their mysterious history, while Adam is indifferent. But Anna finds all trace of her forbears erased and her own relatives are reluctant to talk about the War. The film takes on an extraordinary dimension as the couple grapples not just with the past, but with present-day anti-Semitism and their own relationship as it relates to how they each perceive their heritage and religion.
