About Us

Counting Down To Summer!

We are already planning for the best summer yet and hope that you will join us for another amazing camp experience where we will create friendships and memories to last a lifetime!

At Camp Shalom, we promote and encourage campers to step outside of their comfort zone and try new skills. This way of learning helps promote confidence, build self-esteem, and grows character.

Check out some ways that our camp stands out above the rest!

Health & Safety

Our team’s main priority every summer is the health and safety of our campers and staff. Summer 2023 is no different.

Our counselors and staff continue to be required to pass a Level II background screening. All exterior doors in the building are locked and cannot be opened without an access pass. In addition, our security guards are on duty at all times throughout the summer.

That Family Feeling

Our goal is for campers to feel like Camp Shalom is their second home and their friends and counselors are party of their family. Campers can feel that when they enter the JCC they are greeted by name. We sing Shabbat songs as a whole camp. Camp provides that feeling of a close-knit community where life-long friendships are created, and lasting summer memories are made.

First-Rate Communication

The Camp Shalom team communicates with our families regularly throughout the summer. We send emails to serve as reminders about what’s going on at camp. Our photographer takes pictures at all the activities, and you’ll get access to those pictures on social media to share with family and friends.

Before and After Care

Our camp day begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. We understand that those hours don’t work for everyone, so we open our doors as early at 8:00 am and close as late as 6:00 pm to accommodate working schedules.

Low Staff to Child Ratios

Camp Shalom maintains a low staff to child ratio, allowing counselors to form relationships with their campers and allow better supervision of the daily activities.

Camp Nurse

Camp Shalom is thrilled to have a full-time nurse on staff every summer. Our camp nurse administers medications, helps with boo-boos and gives an extra dose of TLC when needed.

Swimming

Daily free swim is offered to all campers. Each camper will participate in a swim assessment at the beginning of the summer to safely determine comfortability in the pool.

Preschoolers have daily water play, whether it is running through our sprinkler park or swimming in the pool. Lifeguards are always on duty throughout the camp day to make the pool a safe and "cool" place to be!

Truly "Special" Events

Campers and staff alike build some of their strongest camp memories at our special events. The Color Fun Run, Dress Up days, Color War, and the famous end of the summer camp carnival truly set Camp Shalom above the rest!

Lunch

Hate packing lunch? No problem! Camp Shalom offers an optional lunch that you can buy for your camper. Purchase lunch for your camper as little as one day a week or for the entire week!

All lunches include a fruit or vegetable and a snack. Campers should bring their own water or other drink. Lunches are nut-free, but are produced in a facility that uses nuts, soy and dairy in recipes.

Monday: Pizza
Tuesday: Quesadilla
Wednesday: Bagel with cream cheese or butter
Thursday: Pasta
Friday: Chicken Tenders
