Description
American Jewish history is characterized by three waves of immigration from three different parts of Europe. The economic, social and religious mores of the three groups were distinct from one another. The past semester, we explored the firstwave in Colonial America-the Sephardic or Spanish wave. Now we progress to the second period in our history, the Germans and middle European countries in the 1800s. This was quite a difference.
