Description
More than half of people age 65-74 and nearly a third of those 75+ are both sexually interested and active. Today, more people moving to and living in senior communities report that sex, intimacy, and affection are important to their quality of life. Like it or not, many of our older parents are still interested and, in all likelihood, engaged in some form of intimate relationship, regardless of whether they are married or single. What do the kids think? Boomers grew up more sexually liberated; seeking and expecting satisfying relationships and the freedom to be able to express these desires in whatever type of relationship with whomever they choose, to continue. The many benefits of being physically intimate include improved cardiovascular function, better quality sleep, pain relief, reduced depression and anxiety, improved sense of self, and enhanced overall sense of well-being.
