Commemorate Yom HaShoah with your Mandel JCC community. In honor of those who suffered and perished, Dr. Thomas M. Cimarusti, Professor of Music History at Florida Gulf Coast University Bower School of Music, will memorialize music during the Holocaust. Learn not only how music helped prisoners cope with and escape reality, but also how the Nazis used music as a form of propaganda. This poignant multimedia presentation will showcase videos of Holocaust survivors, musical performances in the concentration camps, and select ghetto songs.
