The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches Brings High-Level Virtual Programming with a Unique Film Opportunity

The Mandel JCC’s Virtual Programming Initiatives at Boynton Beach & Palm Beach Gardens Locations Have Brought High-Level Programming to the Community with an Upcoming Q&A Discussion with the director and the star of the newly released film, Resistance.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL - MAY 7, 2020 – The Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC) of the Palm Beaches, an organization dedicated to building community and enhancing Jewish life, has been offering hundreds of virtual programming opportunities that range from arts and culture events, fitness workouts, family tips and resources, a virtual Shabbat service and more in its effort to stay connected with members and the community.

“We have offered hundreds of virtual programs since we had to close our doors on March 13th due to Covid-19 and we’ve seen a demand for high quality cultural arts during that time. We’ve been pleased to see hundreds of people participating weekly in our virtual book club and recently we hosted over 900 people for our virtual film festival,” says Jesse J. Rosen, Mandel JCC President & CEO. “The Mandel JCC is excited about the upcoming partnership with IFC Films and Mean Streets Management and the chance to continue to provide much-needed entertainment to our community.”

On Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 pm Jesse Rosen will be hosting an exclusive Zoom conversation and Q&A with the director and the star of the newly released film, Resistance, Jonathan Jakubowicz and Jesse Eisenberg. At the height of World War II an aspiring Jewish actor – who would later become Marcel Marceau, one of the world’s most famous performers – joins the French Resistance to save children orphaned by the Nazis. Jesse Eisenberg, best known for his role in The Social Network and writer-director Jonathan Jakubowicz will tell stories about the writing, preparation and production of this new major motion picture and afterwards attendees can pose questions to the panel. The event is free, but advanced registration is required at www.JCConline.com/resistance.
