At Camp Shalom, we understand the distinct needs of families with older kids, and our focus is on providing an environment that supports their growth and independence. We aim to foster meaningful peer relationships while acknowledging and respecting the individual needs of each camper. The camp schedule is thoughtfully designed to offer a blend of traditional camp programming and personalized group activities, ensuring that your camper has a well-rounded experience. Each week, they can look forward to special event days, field trips, choice programs, and dress-up days!

  • Campers going into grades 4 - 5 will typically go on 1 field trip a week.
    Campers going into grades 6 - 8 will typically go on 2 field trips a week.

A Typical Day

Campers will be divided into age-appropriate groups, and each day of Camp Shalom contains programming to target the needs of every camper.
Each day will include

Boker Tov
Energized spirit fest to start the day off right! At Boker Tov we sing all our favorite camp songs and enjoy exciting bunk competitions.

Specialty Period 1
Our fun-loving and highly-trained specialists lead group activities such as art, sports, cooking, STEAM, Israeli culture, dance, and more. /p>

Bunk Time
A time and place to develop and strengthen friendships in a small group setting while engaged in social activities. During bunk time campers participate in activities such as:

  • Group Games
  • Gaga
  • Scavenger Hunts
  • Fuse Beads & Crafts

Lunch
Campers enjoy eating either in the cafeteria or bunk room with friends.

Specialty Period 2
Another opportunity to participate in specialty activities.

Free Swim
Free swim is facilitated by our in-house aquatics team JSwim.

Chugim (Choice Elective Program)
Campers have the chance to choose their schedule to explore activities they are interested in.

Snack
A camp provided snack to curb afternoon hunger.

Closing
One last chance to get out any energy campers have left. Campers and parents are presented with any information (handouts/notes) they need for the following camp day.
